Griffin Centre
Facilities
The Griffin centre, built in 1996 and opened by J R Duffy(chair of Governors), is part of Lawrence Sheriff School, Rugby. It was funded with lottery funding by Sport England as a table tennis centre of excellence.
Consisting of a Sports Hall and a performance studio, the Griffin Centre is open to the community every evening, weekend and School Holidays.
The facilities are hired out to local clubs and organisations for competitive, training, social sports and other activities.
Non-sporting activities include dance groups, children's parties and other functions.
The Centre is to the right hand side of the main school building. Parking is available at the front of the School and there is a car park via Whitehall Road with disabled parking.

Management
The Centre is run in accordance with a 'dual use' agreement as set out by Sport England, Rugby Borough Council and the School Governors when the Griffin Centre was first built.
This stipulates targets for community use that include activity groups, sports development initiatives, coaching and competition and exists in recognition of Sport England providing funding for the initial build.
Bookings
During the year the Centre hosts a number of loyal clubs, groups and competitions. These include aerobics, badminton, football, cricket, indoor hockey, table tennis, yoga and martial arts.
Holiday Program.
Activities are run in conjunction with Rugby Borough Council every school holiday. Sports included amongst others are Table Tennis, Basketball, Football and Fencing, along with Arts and Drama.

We have a large room suitable for parties. Full details and prices are available on request.
