Application Process for September 2010 entry
The notes and dates below give you an indication of the pattern of events over the coming months. The first two dates are the Open Evenings. We strongly recommend that you attend as this is an ideal opportunity to look round the school, see presentations on each A level course you may be interested in and most importantly you have the chance to ask teachers questions about their subject area. If you are considering studying Psychology, Sociology, Latin, Classical Civilisation or Home Economics, we would encourage you to attend the Open Evening at Rugby High School too.
| Wednesday 27th January 2010 | Sixth Form Open Evening at Rugby High School. Where you can study one of the following; Psychology, Sociology, Latin, Classical Civilisation or Home Economics. | |
| Wednesday 3rd February 2010 | Sixth Form Open Evening at Lawrence Sheriff School. Application packs will be available at this event. | |
| The Open Evenings are for Year 11 students interested in joining the Sixth Form. We encourage parents to attend too. | ||
| Thursday 4th February 2010 | Application process for all is opened. This means you can now submit your application. Places are limited so you should get your application to us as soon as possible. | |
| Friday 26th February 2010 | Final date for receipt of applications. This means that as there is a high demand for places with us, any applications received after this date will be deemed late and no decision can be made about a place until the GCSE results day in August. | |
| March/April 2010 | Informal meeting with potential students (and parents if they wish). Nothing forbidding – a “get to know” session. | |
| GCSE Results DayAugust 2010 | Individual meetings with potential Sixth Form students following GCSE results. The final part of the process. Students return to Lawrence Sheriff School with their GCSE results and following a successful meeting with a member of the Sixth Form team they will receive a Welcome pack, containing all the information they need prior to the start of term in September. | |
