Welcome to the Sixth Form at Lawrence Sheriff School. We offer a wide range of post-16 courses, namely A levels, AS levels and BTEC National Diplomas, to the prospective Sixth Formers of Rugby and the surrounding area. We seek to combine grammar school traditions with innovative collaboration projects, achieved by working closely with Rugby High School for Girls.
We welcome academic highfliers alongside diligent students with more modest reasons for studying beyond GCSE and nearly half of our Sixth Formers join us from other schools.
We hope to make learning enjoyable and expect students to take full advantage not only of the facilities but also of the teaching, advice, guidance and support they are given throughout their time with us. Parents too, are a crucial part of the process and we strive to stay in touch and keep parents informed of the progress being made by their sons.
The Sixth Form use a purpose built centre, opened in September 2001, which houses a common room, a quiet study room and its own cafeteria, with classrooms and computer rooms on the upper floor. A new Learning Resource Centre, opened last year, has further facilities including a modern library which incorporates a “drop-in” computer room for sixth formers to use throughout the school day.
So, if you are interested in being a Sixth Form student at Lawrence Sheriff School, come to our Open Evening in February and see what we have to offer.
