The exam office is not staffed for most of the holidays; the best way to contact us out of the school term is by email. This is likely to be quicker than leaving a phone message on our phone or the main school number.
Please look at the other exam areas of the website, and the exam section of the downloads, to see if the information you require is there before contacting the Exams office.
Policies
There are some Exam related policies that can be found in the School Policy section of the downloads section of the website.
Exams – Exam Plans
The Exam Plan is a document, specific to each year group, which details all the exam syllabuses studied by that year group and when it is intended that exams will be sat during that Key Stage (e.g. Key Stage 4, Years 9-11). The most up to date versions of these can be downloaded from the exam section of the downloads on this website. (NB. Years 9-11 currently available).
Exams – Dates and Timetables
Exam timetables and important future exam dates can be downloaded from the exams section of the downloads, and can also be viewed under the exam dates sub-menu. Please note that timetables are for guidance only and the school is not liable for any costs incurred should dates not be accurate. All candidates will be issued with individual candidate timetables for each exam series which resolve clashes and show the room (and generally the seat number) for each exam. A note will be included in the Weekly Word when individual timetables have been issued. GCSE syllabuses are changing over the next 2 years which will cause limitations on re-sit opportunities.
Exams – Certificates
The certificates for courses completed in August arrive in school in October. If you are still at LSS in October, you will be given your certificates at school. If you have left, you will have been given a form with your results offering you various options for collecting your certificates. Please complete it and return it to school!
The school keeps GCE and GCSE certificates indefinitely. If you think we may still have yours then please contact the Exams Office.
SCHOOL CLOSURE
Even if the school is closed owing to bad weather, public exams will still run. Students should make all reasonable efforts to get to school to take public exams. If they cannot attend then they should contact the school (01788 542074) or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Public exams cannot be rescheduled but all GCSE and GCE exams timetabled in November, January and March are available again in the Summer. In the event of bad weather, please check the school website for the most up to date information.
