To Saturday 16 November 2019
Following on from some very successful trips over the last few years, the Physics department is planning to once again take a number of students to the CERN Particle Accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland. CERN is one of the most advanced Particle Physics facilities in the world and has been the place of a number of important breakthroughs over the last 50 years, including the discovery of the Higgs Boson particle. Particle Physics is an integral topic within the second part of the A level course and this trip is designed to complement and enhance your son/daughter’s understanding of this rapidly developing area of Physics.
During our stay in Geneva we will visit the CERN facility and its accompanying exhibitions, as well as exploring Geneva itself and visiting the United Nations Building.
We are leaving school on Wed 13/11 at midday (flight time from Luton to Geneva at 15.40 Easyjet 2051).
We return to school on Sat 16/11 at approximately 2.30pm (flight time from Geneva to Luton at 11.25 Easyjet 2052) with a coach trip back to Rugby.
